HC Deb 27 March 1947 vol 435 c215W
Mr. Haydn Davies

asked the Minister of Education whether he is aware that the maximum salary that men awaiting admission to emergency colleges can receive while being employed as temporary teachers is, in areas outside London, £228 per annum; and if he will take steps to increase this amount since most of these ex-Servicemen have families to support.

Mr. Tomlinson

Men awaiting admission to emergency training colleges, who are employed as temporary teachers, are paid the salaries appropriate to these posts which have been fixed under the Burnham Scales.
