§ 110. Mr. Prittasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will arrange to make available to the House copies of the communications between the Japanese Ambassador in London and the Japanese Government in Tokyo in 1939–40, which have been put in evidence by the British and U.S. prosecution in the war crimes trial now being held in Tokyo; and, generally, whether any reports of these proceedings will be made available to the House.
Mr. McNeilI am asking the United Kingdom associate prosecutor at the Tokyo trial of Japanese major war criminals to send me, for the use of the House, copies of the documents referred to by the hon. and learned Member. Owing to the difficulties of transport between here and Tokyo only one set of the transcripts of the proceedings of the trial has so far been received in London, but I have asked for a duplicate set, to be placed in the House of Commons Library.
