HC Deb 21 January 1947 vol 432 c17W
94. Mr. Rankin

asked the Secretary of State for War if he is now prepared to apply the special hardship allowance of December, 1945, to peacetime disability pensioners.

Mr. Bellenger

The allowance in question applies only to pensioners of the 1939–45 war and it will not be extended to cover prewar peacetime cases. The postwar disability pension code has not yet been drawn up, but when the time comes the question of including a special hardship allowance will be considered.
