§ 92. Mr. Pagetasked the Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the fact that Northampton Racecourse is now occupied only by a maintenance party, and that it is urgently required for recreation purposes, he will now derequisition this public park.
§ Mr. BellengerMy hon. Friend is misinformed. The camp in question is occupied by about 470 troops who are required to be in the district and for whom no other accommodation is at present available. I sympathise with the desire of the citizens of Northampton for the return of their park, but I regret that the camp must remain for the time being.
