HC Deb 10 February 1947 vol 433 c18W
95. Mr. Touche

asked the Minister of Works if he is aware that, since last October, the Dorking and Horley Rural District Council have been trying to obtain, from the War Department dump at Horley, building materials urgently required for the partitioning of huts on the Horley Gardens Estate, but that delivery has been delayed pending negotiations between his Department and the War Department and, in the meantime. the materials are deteriorating; and if he will take immediate action to ensure delivery of these materials to the council.

Mr. Tomlinson

The War Department has now decided to use the materials in the dump at Horley for its own requirements. I regret, therefore, that my Department cannot make them available to the council.
