asked the Minister of Works how much has been spent of sanctioned on the reconditioning of Cornwall Terrace, Regents Park, to be occupied by his Department; how many houses are involved; and if he will divide the cost as between structural repairs, painting and furnishing.

Mr. Tomlinson

The total cost of repairing and converting the 18 houses in Cornwall Terrace for temporary office use is estimated at £88,000. Of this figure £6,800 represents paint work and £2,850 furnishing. The remainder represents structural repairs and reconditioning including a considerable amount of war damage repair and engineering services.
