Mr. Stokes

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what is the total number of persons employed in the Control Commission for Germany British section including persons employed by T-Force, North German Coal Control, North German Timber Control and Ministry of Supply Disposals Group; and whether he will also give separate figures for each of these last four groups.

Nineteen thousand and forty British personnel were employed by the Control Commission for Germany (British Element) on 29th November, 1947. Of these, 1,228 were employed in T-Force, 109 in the United Kingdom-United States Control Group (formerly North German Coal Control), 307 in North German Timber Control and 156 act as disposal agents for the Ministry of Supply.
