HC Deb 19 December 1947 vol 445 c431W
Colonel Clarke

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what is the basic petrol ration for British service personnel and members of the Control Commission in Germany who own private cars; and what is the total quantity of petrol needed to meet this ration.

Mr. Mayhew

The basic petrol ration for British personnel in Germany who own private cars is fixed at an amount sufficient to provide a maximum monthly mileage of 270 miles. I regret that the answer to the second part of the Question is not immediately available; I have asked the Control Commission for a report.
