§ 110. Mr. Spenceasked the Minister of Transport what shipping he has been asked to provide to convey gift parcels from the people of Boston, U.S.A., to the people of Scotland; what action has been taken; and what is the approximate tonnage required.
§ Mr. BarnesI understand that arrangements for the shipment of these gifts, which are still in course of collection and for which we are very grateful to the people of the New England States, are being made by the British shipping companies concerned in conjunction with the local organisers. Shipment is required towards the end of the month and the "Eucadia," a ship of about 10,000 tons deadweight, is being earmarked for the purpose.
