§ 96. Mr. Walker-Smithasked the Secretary of State for War why ranker officers in the 1914–18 war received pensions 76W assessed on the basis of pensions for other ranks whereas similar cases in the R.N. and Royal Marines received officers pensions; and if he will reconsider this matter.
§ Mr. BellengerThis question was the subject of the fullest investigation during the years following the 1914–18 war. I would refer the hon. Member particularly to the Report of the Committee on the Claims of Professional Ex-Ranker Officers, 1924, published as Cd. 2124. I see no ground for re-opening the matter.
