HC Deb 29 October 1946 vol 428 c75W
95. Mr. J. Hudson

asked the Secretary of State for War why, in view of the fact that in the borough of Ealing alone more than 10,000 applicants for houses are on the council lists, his Department has rejected the demand of the Ealing Borough Council for the use for temporary houses of hutments on the gite site in Gunnersbury Park.

Mr. Bellenger

These hutments have been used as accommodation for a Record Office, enabling permanent accommodation urgently required for educational purposes to be released. There are no alternative premises available for the Record Office and the decision to use these hutments was taken after full consideration of all factors.
