§ 114. Dr. Clitherowasked the Minister of Health if he is aware that prescriptions for dangerous drugs and scheduled drugs are being issued to National Health Insurance patients in quantities sufficient, in many cases, to ensure a constant supply for many weeks, namely, 200 barbitone tablets in one case; and if, in view of the possibility of the patient taking increasing doses and perhaps becoming an addict, he will take steps to prevent the issue of National Health Insurance prescriptions containing dangerous drugs and scheduled drugs for more than one week's supply at any one time.
§ Mr. BevanI do not think it would be proper to interfere with a doctor's discretion by any such general prohibition.
