§ 88. Mr. Medlandasked the Secretary of State for War if he will give the approximate date upon which the Inter-departmental Committee on Service Land Requirements will report; and whether, in the interim, he will arrange for the employment of Poles in the clearance of open spaces such as Dartmoor from live shells and bombs which are preventing cattle grazing on the land and its use as an amenity to the general public.
§ Mr. BellengerThe terms of reference of the Services Land Requirements Committee cover all service land requirements including accommodation and storage and it is not possible to state when its work will be completed. The Committee is at present dealing with all training areas and ranges, which exceed 1,000 acres and recommendations on a number of these areas should be ready before the end of the year.
