HC Deb 05 November 1946 vol 428 c218W
89. Mr. Shurmer

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will consider giving a general instruction to commanding officers that when compiling Christmas leave lists they should give sympathetic consideration to men in their units who have spent four or more Christmases away from home.

Mr. Bellenger

I would refer my hon. Friend to the statement I made on 22nd October, of which I am sending him a copy. Instructions to implement the provisions I mentioned have already been issued to all concerned and the point raised by my hon. Friend is one of several factors that will be considered by commanding officers.
