§ Mr. IsaacsEmployers are required to keep staff records in such a way as will show their position under the Quota Scheme, and although I have power to inspect those records I feel that it would be premature at this stage to institute a systematic inspection. There is adequate machinery to secure enforcement, and I will not hesitate to use my powers to this end if any case of deliberate non-compliance should come to my notice.
§ Mr. F. Willeyasked the Minister of Labour when it is anticipated that a 204W factory for the employment of disabled persons will be completed in Sunderland; and what will be the nature of the work carried out.
§ Mr. IsaacsThe Disabled Persons Employment Corporation proposes to establish a factory at Sunderland as soon as possible and plans are well advanced. It is not possible to state a definite date for its completion but it is hoped that it will be ready early in 1948. There will be a number of different occupations which will probably include woodworking and light mechanised assembly. The work undertaken will depend upon the products for which there is the best demand at the time the factory is ready and upon the nature of the disabilities of the workers.
