HC Deb 15 May 1946 vol 422 c235W
Mrs. Middleton

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what action he proposes to take regarding the royalties from the Northern Rhodesian copper mines now being paid to the British South Africa Company; and whether he is aware of the demand in Northern Rhodesia that these royalties should be retained by the Northern Rhodesian treasury for the benefit of the country.

Mr. George Hall:

Yes, Sir. I am aware of the views expressed in the recent debate in the Legislative Council. I propose to discuss this question with the Governor of Northern Rhodesia and two unofficial members of the Legislative Council during their visit to this country next month.
