asked the First Lord of the Admiralty how many permanent naval establishments there are in Scotland and where they are located.

Mr. Dugdale:

I regret that it is not at present possible to state which of the numerous naval establishments in Scotland will be permanently retained. The answer will depend on many questions yet unsettled, but I can assure the hon. Member that the Admiralty will in its considerations bear in mind the claims of Scotland to a fair share of the employment which naval activities provide.
