79. Lieut.-Colonel Byers

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that 14396814 Lance-Corporal R. J. Garmham, 404 D.T.N., Maintenance Section, attached No. 2 Company, Madras Signals, Fort St. George, Madras, India Command, accepted Class B release on 9th January, 1946, since when he has been given no indication as to the date upon which he is to be released; and what steps are being taken to ensure that delays of this nature are reduced to a minimum.

Mr. Lawson:

I am making inquiries about this case and as soon as they are completed I will write to the hon. and gallant Member. Instructions have already been issued to all commands that Class B releases are to be dealt with as rapidly as possible.

asked the Secretary of State for War when the hon. Member for Solihull will receive a reply to his letter of 8th April, relating to a compassionate release for 14844387 Private R. H. Lyons.
