HC Deb 21 March 1946 vol 420 c411W
93. Flight-Lieutenant Haire

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General what steps he is taking to reduce the long delay in transmitting telegrams over the telephone.

Mr. Burke

I assume that my hon. and gallant Friend is referring to cases in which delay has occurred in delivering a telegram to the addressee by means of dictation over the telephone. I am not aware that such delay is general, but if he will be good enough to furnish details of the cases he has in mind I shall be glad to have inquiry made.
