§ Sir E. Graham-Littleasked the Secretary of State for War if he will now arrange to enclose with the literature sent out to medical officers awaiting demobilisation, information regarding refresher or post-graduate courses provided for them on return to civil life; as with the present arrangements, many weeks elapse before officers thus released are informed of what steps they should take in this respect.
§ Mr. LawsonFull particulars of the Government's refresher schemes for medical officers were circulated to all commands at home and overseas during April and June, 1945, with the instruction that they should be brought to the notice of all medical officers. In addition a pamphlet on the subject has been prepared by the War Office, a copy of which is sent to each medical officer who is released, with his release certificate. Owing to the accelerated release programme for medical officers there is unfortunately some delay at present in the issue of release certificates. Steps are therefore being taken to issue this pamphlet to medical officers when they pass through dispersal units, together with a separate pamphlet drawn up by the Central Medical War Committee.
