HC Deb 04 April 1946 vol 421 cc236-7W
88. Dr. Segal

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware of the feeling among members of the Forces on home establishments that they should be allocated civilian scales of rations; and on what grounds these scales are being withheld.

Mr. Bellenger:

Service and civilian scales as such are not stricly comparable for the reasons I gave in my answer to my hon. Friend the Member for Acock's Green (Mr. Usborne) on 13th March. The possibility of further reducing the Service ration scales, especially in the light of the world food situation, is, however, now being reviewed.
