HC Deb 12 November 1945 vol 415 c1867W
Wing Commander Hulbert

asked the Minister of War Transport when it is proposed to remove the temporary bridges across the Thames; and whether the cost of work in connection therewith will be charged on the Exchequer or local authority.

Mr. Barnes

The three temporary bridges across the Thames in the London County Council area will be removed as soon as labour is available. I am prepared to deal with the cost of removal on the same basis as applied to the cost of erection of the bridges. There is another temporary bridge across the Thames at Staines, which will be retained for some time for use as a footway.
