HC Deb 12 November 1945 vol 415 c1867W
Mr. Warbey

asked the Minister of War Transport whether he will call the attention of the London Midland and Scottish Railway to the inadequacy and unpunctuality of the train service between St. Pancras and Luton, especially between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Mr. Barnes

I have asked for a report from the London Midland and Scottish Railway on this matter and will communicate with my hon. Friend when I have received it.

Major McCallum

asked the Minister of War Transport if he is aware of the proposal to close that section of the L.M. & S. Railway running through Strathearn, between Balquhidder and Crieff stations; and if he will withhold his approval, in view of the fact that this line provides one of the two railway connections between Perth and the West Highlands

Mr. Barnes

I would refer the hon. Member to my reply to a Question by the hon. Member for Kinross (Mr. Snadden) on 15th October. The hon. Member may be assured that all relevant considerations will be taken into account before a decision is reached.
