HC Deb 23 August 1945 vol 413 cc856-7W
Mr. Hogg

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he has considered the restrictions on the vocational and educational training scheme for the Forces whereby students who desire to train for new vocations are limited to building and allied trades, agriculture, cabinet-making, and retail distribution; and whether he proposes to widen the scope of these schemes.

Mr. Bellenger

The scope of the vocational type of training given under the Army Scheme is being planned in close co-operation with the Minister of Labour and National Service and the scheme will be expanded to include further occupations as, and when, the prospects of employment in them become clearer.
