HC Deb 21 July 1943 vol 391 c918W
Mr. Price

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether, in view of the fact that in many districts industrial workers are able to get a canteen meal at midday while agricultural workers in the same district only get an extra three ounces of cheese a week, some further additions can be made to the agricultural worker's ration in his home?

Mr. Mabane

No, Sir. I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to my hon. Friend the Member for Chislehurst (Sir W. Smithers) on 30th June last. I would add however that the special ration of cheese for agricultural workers is at present 12 ozs. a week, that is to say, an addition of 9 ozs. and not 3 ozs., to the ordinary ration of 3 ozs. a week.
