HC Deb 21 July 1943 vol 391 c918W
Mr. Glenvil Hall

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether his Ministry has any information as to the length of time it takes good pickers to gather one pound of whimberries; and, if not, whether he will take steps to obtain this information?

Mr. Mabane

The time taken to pick a pound of whimberries varies with the dexterity of the pickers and the density of the crop, but, in relation to the prices determined for picking other fruits and berries, I am advised the pickers price for whimberries leaves no ground for complaint.
