Mr. De la Bèreasked the Secretary of State for War whether he can now give 61W an assurance that officers serving in the East admitted to hospital suffering from dysentery or similar ailments will not have their pay stopped and be charged for their period of stay in hospital; and whether he can give information showing what has been the position in connection with cases of this sort since the outbreak of hostilities?
Sir J. CraigI should be glad to have details of the cases which my hon. Friend may have in mind. Officers serving in the Middle East who are admitted to hospital there receive treatment for ailments such as those referred to without charge.
