HC Deb 15 October 1942 vol 383 c1789W
Mr. Naylor

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether, in view of the large quantity of petrol consumed by the funeral-furnishing profession, he will consider the practicability of cutting down the long journeys now made by mourners' coaches by insisting that the religious functions and family observances be carried out and completed at the local church or chapel, leaving only the hearse to continue the journey to the place of interment?

Major Lloyd George

No, Sir. I am not prepared to control by regulation ceremonies of this nature.
