§ Captain Anstruther-Grayasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that as a result of the Ministry of Supply allocating a large sum of money to Entertainments National Service Association, while the War Office contribution has been reduced, performances are now given at factories in preference to Army units; and whether he is satisfied that the Army is receiving a fair share of good Entertainments National Service Association performances?
§ Sir J. GriggE.N.S.A. is responsible for meeting the demands for entertainment from factories as well as from the Services. These demands are co-ordinated by the National Service Entertainments Board and there is no question of the factories having priority over the Army. The exact sum to be allocated for the provision2300W of E.N.S.A, entertainment in the year 1942–43 has not yet been finally settled but I can assure my hon. and gallant Friend that the Army will get a fair share of the available good entertainment.
