§ Captain Ellistonasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he will modify the regulations in circular F.I.C. 1248, issued by his Department, to permit the provision of communal meals and refreshments for workers attending entertainments at places of recreation during their stay-at-home holidays and thus relieve hard-worked housewives from some part of their domestic duties during the holiday period?
§ Mr. MabaneMy Noble Friend regrets that he will not be able to provide additional food supplies for holiday-at-home weeks but catering estabhshments, includ- 1389W ing works canteens and British Restaurants, will be able to draw their usual allowances and it is hoped that local authorities who are engaged in making arrangements for those holiday weeks, will be able to arrange with caterers for the provision of tea and light refreshments in public parks and other suitable places.
