HC Deb 11 February 1942 vol 377 cc1544-5W
Mr. R. Morgan

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in framing any coming legislation, he will take into consideration the view that more money than is desirable is still being spent on the consumption of the limited supply of commodities; and that curtailment of individual outlay is needed?

Sir K. Wood

The Government have continually in mind the need for a still greater reduction in personal expenditure and measures to that end are taken as circumstances require.
