HC Deb 03 February 1942 vol 377 c1074W
Mr. Parker

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Supply whether he is aware that, since the outbreak of hostilities in the Malayan area, a firm outside the rubber reclamation ring is unable to obtain licences for steel for reclaiming plant which they ordered months ago; and whether any member of the ring has been given licences for this steel either before the Japanese entry into the war or after that date?

Mr. Harold Macmillan

I am aware of the case to which the hon. Member refers. Arrangements have been made for the release of the steel to the firm in question. Steel has been released for machinery for a number of other firms.
