HC Deb 03 February 1942 vol 377 cc1073-4W
Major Markham

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Supply what is the composition of the Waste Paper Recovery Association; how its governing members are selected; and from what sources is the £20,000 offered in prizes for salvage found?

Mr. Harold Macmillan

The Waste Paper Recovery Association, Ltd., was formed by the newspapers, periodicals, paper mills and board mills, and its directors represent those interests. Its purpose is to assist in the recovery of waste paper and salvage. I understand that the £20,000 offered in prizes was given by a number of public-spirited citizens.
