HC Deb 06 August 1942 vol 382 c1205W
Sir G. Jeffreys

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he will consider the temporary suspension of the Table Poultry Prices Order, so as to allow those poultry farmers who have reared pullets for sale to domestic poultry keepers and who find that they are unable to sell them for that purpose, to obtain for them, as table poultry, a price more in line with the cost of production?

Mr. Mabane

I am not prepared to adopt my hon. and gallant Friend's suggestion which would impose a substantial charge on the whole of the consumers of poultry by reason of the general rise in prices of all poultry which would inevitably follow the suspension of the Maximum Price Order.
