HC Deb 06 August 1942 vol 382 c1207W
Mr. Beaumont

asked the Secretary of State for War whether, for the purpose of maintaining discipline, he will consider the advisability of granting honorary commissions to full-time civil medical practitioners who are dealing with sickness and other matters affecting members of His Majesty's Forces?

Mr. Sandys

Where civilian medical practitioners are employed full-time to look after sick military personnel, the latter have always an officer who is responsible for their administration and discipline. It is therefore unnecessary to grant honorary commissions to full-time civilian medical practitioners for this purpose.
