§ Mr. H. MorrisonThere are 297 coroners in England and Wales of whom, according to my present information, 13 are employed on a full-time basis. Several coroners occupy more than one coronership, the total number of coroner-ships being 333. The salaries of all coroners for the year 1939, which is the last year for which records are available, amounted to £99,307, and the expenses incurred by them in the execution of their duty to £145,666, representing a total cost of £244,973.
