HC Deb 04 July 1940 vol 362 c1022W
Colonel Burton

asked the Minister of Supply whether he is satisfied that the suggested bomb to be manufactured in old bottles would prove more satisfactory than the use of machinery which can be obtained from, or used in, the United States of America to produce grenades from 1 to 50 lbs. weight at the rate of from 850,000 to 1,000,000 per week; and will he take steps to secure this machinery?

Mr. Harold Macmillan

While I am in a position to reassure my hon. Friend with regard to this matter, it would not be in the national interest that I should give any particulars.
