HC Deb 04 October 1939 vol 351 c1982W
Mr. Malcolm MacMillan

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will make a statement on the position of the staff of the MacBrayne Company's subsidised services and on the recent discussions regarding their conditions of work, overtime pay, and union recognition?

Captain Wallace:

As a result of further discussion yesterday with the Managing Director of the Company, my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour is arranging another meeting at an early date with the representatives of the Railway Clerks' Association when it is fully anticipated that progress will be made towards the settlement of this matter.
