HC Deb 04 May 1938 vol 335 cc888-9W
Mr. Acland

asked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been drawn to the action of the Cornwall County Council in narrowing the width of the roadway in St. Columb; whether he approves of this action; and, if not, whether he will take steps to remedy the situation?

Mr. Burgin:

I am aware that the carriageway at Market Street, St. Columb, has been narrowed. As a result of experiments over a period of about two months and a meeting on the spot, at which my representative met representatives of local interests, a lay-out has been agreed which it is considered will assist the movement of traffic and make for safety.
