Mr. R. Duckworthasked the Minister of Transport what towns and villages in England and Wales, respectively, are now actually being by-passed by roads under construction or contemplated?
§ Mr. BurginThe information required would be very extensive, is not readily available, and considerable labour and 885W expense would be involved in obtaining it. I shall, of course, be happy to give my hon. Friend information regarding any particular towns or villages he may have in mind.
§ Mr. D. Somervilleasked the Minister of Transport whether he can give details of any objections from towns which it is proposed to by-pass?
§ Mr. Burgin:I assume my hon. Friend's question relates to formal objections received from the local authorities of places on Trunk Roads proposed to be bypassed. Up to 30th April 1 have made 34 Orders under Section 1 (3) of the Trunk Roads Act, 1936, in respect of which I have received two objections of this description. If my hon. Friend has any particular place in mind, I shall be happy to give him any additional information in my possession.
