asked the Minister of Transport whether he can state the number of driving licences issued in England and Wales for the 12 months ended to the last convenient date?

Mr. Burgin

During the 12 months ended 30th September, 1937, 3,946,703 driving licences were issued in England and Wales.

Mr. Holdsworth

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will state the number of "A," "B," and "C" licences issued during 1936; and also this year up to the last convenient date?

Mr. Burgin

The number of licences current at 30th June, 1937, and 30th April, 1936, were:
