HC Deb 23 December 1937 vol 330 c2194W
Mr. De la Bère

asked the Postmaster-General whether, in view of the fact that television companies have started to equip theatres with the apparatus for television reception, he will, in consultation with the British Broadcasting Corporation and the other entertainment interests concerned, introduce legislation to regulate the position?

Major Tryon

As I have stated in reply to previous questions, I have not so far been consulted about any proposals to equip theatres for television reception. I have no present reason to suppose that legislation is likely to be required for the regulation of any scheme of this kind.
