HC Deb 09 April 1936 vol 310 c2949W
Mr. MANDER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any statement to make with regard to the Austrian re-armment proposals in breach of treaty obligations?

Viscount CRANBORNE

His Majesty's Government have not yet received the text of the Austrian law introducing what is described as "universal service for public purposes," and my right hon. Friend is not therefore in a position to say whether, and if so to what extent, it contravenes the terms of Part V of the Treaty of St. Germain.
