HC Deb 04 May 1931 vol 252 c39W
Rear-Admiral BEAMISH

asked the Minister of Transport if he will make inquiries as to whether electrified railways on the Continent make use of safely devices at level crossings, either by overhead wires or other means, to ensure the safety of farm animals and human beings?

Mr. PARKINSON

The electrified railways on the Continent generally use the overhead wire system of conduction throughout, so that the point which, if I understand his question rightly, the hon. and gallant Member particularly has in mind, does not arise.
