Mr. WINTERTONasked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been called to the dangerous character of the railway bridge over Smisby Road, Ashby-de-la-Zouch; and whether the Ministry is prepared to make the same proportionate grant to the cost of its removal as in the case of toll bridges?
§ Mr. HERBERT MORRISONThe condition of the railway bridge over Smisby Road, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, and the possibility of effecting some improvement, have been discussed with the county council. In the event of the council deciding to promote an improvement scheme, I shall be prepared to consider it for a grant from the Road Fund, but until I know what form the scheme will take, I am unable to intimate the measure of assistance which might be available.
