HC Deb 04 March 1931 vol 249 c411W
Mr. D. G. SOMERVILLE

asked the Minister of Transport whether he has received any reports indicating the effect of the raising of the speed limit on motor traffic generally?

Mr. HERBERT MORRISON

I have not received any formal reports in the matter, but from statements which have appeared in the Press I think there can be no doubt that the provisions of the Road Traffic Act, 1930, taken as a whole, have had a salutary effect on motor traffic.
