asked the President of the Board of Education whether he has received representations from the National Union of School Teachers as to the urgency of holding an inquiry into the position of uncertificated and supplementary teachers; if he will take any action thereon; and whether in future

of cotton, linen, silk and wool imported into the United States of America during each of the years 1925 to 1929, distinguishing the principal countries whence imported, so far as the particulars are available from the published trade returns of the United States.

this union will have the opportunity of being heard when decisions are taken affecting the interests of their members?

I have received representations from the National Union of School Teachers, but I see no necessity for holding an inquiry into the position of uncertificated and supplementary teachers. I shall be prepared to consider any representations from this union on matters affecting the interests of its members.
