HC Deb 15 May 1930 vol 238 cc2072-3W
Mr. D. G. SOMERVILLE

asked the Home Secretary whether the police have received any complaints, and, if so, of what nature, concerning the character of certain gramophone song records which are now on sale?

Mr. CLYNES

Neither the Home Office nor the Commissioner of Police has any information as to the sale or circulation of offensive gramophone records in this country.

Mr. DAY

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the publication and circulation of any offensive gramophone song records; and whether he has taken any action in the matter?

Mr. CLYNES

I would refer the hon. Member to the answer which I gave to-day to the hon. Member for the East Division of Willesden (Mr. D. G. Somerville).
