§ Mr. LAWSONThe trainees at the women's domestic centres make outfits for themselves and cook their own meals. A certain amount of farm produce from the oversea centres is sold in the open market. At the handymen's centres it is a necessary part of certain kinds of training to make articles of various kinds, some of which are sold to purchasers at commercial rates, or to do small repairs which are similarly charged for; such production work, however, is not carried out except to the extent to which it is necessary as a training exercise.
