§ Sir N. GRATTAN-DOYLEasked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been called to the extensive dumping of refuse by local authorities in country districts adjacent to London; whether he is aware of the complaints of those who live in the neighbourhood of these dumps; whether, in addition to discomfort, he has evidence of their encouragement of disease and illness; and whether he will take steps to compel local authorities to dispose of their refuse by other than this method?
§ Mr. GREENWOODThe answer to the first two parts of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the third part, I have no positive evidence on the point. On the fourth part and on the question generally I would refer the hon. Member to the reply to the question asked by the hon. Member for Wycombe (Sir A. Knox) on the 4th July last.
